Briggs to ride BRAD AND CARLEY Knight’s DASHING FRENCH BELLE

Jordon Briggs, who earned her invite to the 2024 American Rodeo by virtue of a fourth place finish in the 2023 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Standings, shared news that her equine partner “Rollo” has been sidelined for this year’s event. Briggs will ride Brad and Carley Knight’s Dashing French Belle, a 6-year-old chestnut mare trained by Taylor Hildreth that recently won the Royal Crown Derby.

“Rollo has a small ligament tear, which we are grateful we caught early,” said Briggs. “The plan is for him to rest and recover for the next two to four months and we’ll do whatever we need to do to rehab it completely.”

This incident marks Rollo’s first career injury, for which Briggs says she is grateful. Sired by Dash Ta Fame and out of Blazin JetOlena by Blazin Black Beauty, Rollo was named the AQHA/WPRA Horse of the in 2021.

Briggs, who teamed with Rollo to capture the 2022 WPRA World Champion, has $51,258 in American Rodeo earnings to her credit. She earned the WPRA reserve championship in barrel racing back-to-back in 2022 and 2023.
