special performances by country music stars

MIDLAND
Friday, May 22nd
Double GRAMMY nominees Midland have sought to reintroduce the Western plains, Laurel Canyon cum Bakersfield, and Lone Star juke joints to country music since coming together at a friend’s wedding over common influences and a shared desire to return to a post-Urban Cowboy sound. For lead singer and guitarist Mark Wystrach, bassist and vocalist Cameron Duddy, and lead guitarist and vocalist Jess Carson, the double platinum hit “Drinkin’ Problem” set the stage for their critically acclaimed album On the Rocks and their No. 1 Billboard Top Country Albums debut Let It Roll, uniting classic country fans, hipsters, and media outlets including Entertainment Weekly, GQ, The Washington Post, Vogue, Esquire, Variety, Rolling Stone Country, and NPR. Based in Dripping Springs, Texas, the trio of songwriters developed their sound at Tornillo’s storied Sonic Ranch and have built a following that has sold out the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show, packed multiple nights at Fort Worth’s iconic Billy Bob’s, and re-opened North Hollywood’s legendary Palomino Club for one night only. With their latest album The Last Resort: Greetings From on Big Machine Records, Midland brings listeners a resurgence of thick harmonies, sad melodies, tart lyrics, and steel guitar, marking their evolution from bar band to in-demand headliner. The retro-nuevo trio has even launched their own cruise, setting sail in April 2024. For more on Midland and tour updates, visit MidlandOfficial.com.

CHRIS YOUNG
Saturday, May 23rd
Nearing 20 years in the country music spotlight, Chris Young has grown into the definition of a long-haul superstar, but the road remains open ahead. One of Billboard’s top country artists of the decade, the prolific hitmaker boasts 14 No. 1 singles and more than 9 billion streams, building an unbroken streak of success on songs that balance country roots with a modern edge and connect through real feeling. A member of the historic Grand Ole Opry, global arena headliner, and creative force of nature, the CMT Award winner and ACM, AMA, CMA, and GRAMMY nominee has written and co-produced much of the work behind his 54 RIAA certifications, creating a career that bridges multiple phases of country expression. Now joining Black River Entertainment as his new label home, the seasoned entertainer, once named “one of his era’s finest traditionalists” by the Associated Press, feels refreshed and energized, bringing his signature style into the future. His bold tenth album, I Didn’t Come Here to Leave, marks the beginning of a new chapter, featuring 14 new songs including 11 co-writes that find Young hitting a new creative stride. Re-centering his foundation of timeless romance while embracing the energy of his legendary live shows and bringing his deep vocal rumble back to his baritone roots, the album represents the most complete expression of his creative vision and the highest level of craftsmanship in his career. Co-producing alongside Andy Sheridan, Young poured passionate attention into every lyric and embraced an old-school live studio band dynamic, creating a record that connects the glory days of country’s past with the exhilarating promise of a new dawn.
